Jan Davis de Heem
Jan Davis de Heem (1606-1684) was a 17th-century Dutch painter known for his richly colored and detailed still life paintings. Born in Utrecht, he moved to Leiden in 1626, where he painted black-and-white still lifes of musical instruments and books. However, after 1631 he moved to Antwerp, where he began to paint colorful and elegant works. His theme also changed to fruits and flowers, and in 1660 he painted this "Flowers in a Vase".
Iris
Vincent Van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), a representative Dutch painter of Post-Impressionism. In May 1890, just before Van Gogh was discharged from the psychiatric hospital in Saint-Remy, where he had been staying for a year, he painted a still image of the spring flowers irises and roses. This work "Iris" looks like it has faded and looks white, but the original background is "pink". On the other hand, another work, "Rose", also looks like it has faded and looks white, but the original color of the flower is "pink" and the two flowers are drawn in contrast. Both works belonged to the artist's mother.
Starry Night
Vincent Van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), a representative Dutch painter of Post-Impressionism. Although he sold only one painting in his lifetime, his "Starry Night" later became one of the most famous works of art in the world. The dark blue, green, and yellow night skies drawn with thick, swirling brushstrokes envelop the steeple of the church and the quiet cityscape, giving his work a sense of dynamism. Painted in 1889, this masterpiece evokes the landscape of Van Gogh's native Netherlands. A mosaic of stars twinkles on a cloudless night.
